Making Connections

From Jan at Walsh College
Today in our Experienced Entrepreneurs Affinity Group meeting we talked about traditional advertising and how to get more bang for your buck. Small businesses usually find that traditional media - newspapers, radio, television - are beyond their means. But small businesses are often more creative when it comes to finding ways to get the word out. New media should be where small businesses look for affordable marketing solutions. As "experienced entrepreneurs," most of the group is over 40; and therefore much less likely to be fluent in Web 2.0. So the group is going to learn! Many of us signed up to go to the Detroit PRSA meeting in February. We also looked at building our social capital on LinkedIn. Those of us who use it have success stories. Word of mouth is hands-down the best way to reach new people. How do you create buzz? How do you get that viral marketing working? See if there's information on here that you can use. Let me know what works for you!
